A nice European thriller was just released by NODLABS. The Wave is a German movie that gathered lots of attention due to its plot. It was also screened in a couple of festivals including the Sundance Film Festival 2008. Video and Audio quality are superior with a very high video bitrate and an awesome 5.1 AC3 audio. And btw, movie is in German so English subtitles were packed with it and uploaded. Enjoy!

Synopsis: A high-school teacher assigned the thankless task of teaching autocracy as part of the school’s project week decides to spice up his lessons by conducting a decidedly unorthodox experiment in this adaptation of the popular novel by Todd Strasser. Though his students are initially apathetic about teh prospect of being schooled in the evils of fascism yet again, the lesson soon takes an unexpected turn of events that no one in the classroom could have seen coming.

Please. That’s about as surprising as the film about teenagers spending a night in the abandoned insane asylum turning out to be a horror film. Who could have guessed ?

What a great teacher… NOT.
Dictator and Social do not belong in the same dictionary let alone the same sentence. They are the exact opposite of each other. There is a reason this movie is not in english and that is because it is utterly ridiculous.

I believe this is something similar to the older american TV version which is based on a true experiment carried out in a Californian school. The purpose of the experiment was to show how people was manipulated to do horrible things they normally wouldn’t do by the Nazi regime in Germany during the world war 2.
