Yeehaw, another corny horror movie, not like we’ve had enough of these! Killer creatures that lurk in dark (and nightmares) seem to be the basis of these cheap scares, and I’m not too fussed whether its scary or not because I ain’t touching this one. Regardless, quality seems pretty damn good, just a shame the movie doesn’t seem up to the same quality.

PS: Look at that sexy alien mitt in the 3rd sample, now wouldn’t that go just great with some Sweet & Sour sauce, and a good serving a special flied rice!?! /me drools

A new(ish) Australian comedy from group aAF. Suprisingly, this one actually has pretty good ratings on iMDB, and the notoriously hard to please RT critics. So if your looking for a bit of light-hearted fun on a boring day, this may just be for you! aAF are a very reliable group, so I’m not expecting any nukes on this one, with quality video and audio included.

Another decent looking indie horror, looks like somewhat out of the Saw mould. High schoolers who go on a rampage against those who tortured them at school, and all that jazz. Quality is again pretty standard on this release.

A pretty damn good sounding indie horror from VoMiT this time, and this one actually has a trailer! The plot sounds pretty awesome and the few written reviews reveal this one to be a bit of a mind-fuck. Quality wise this release is pretty standard stuff, video and audio are baseline.

Another one of those corny Hallmark movies this time from VoMiT. Not much to say other then quality seems pretty good besides the horrid 4:3 (analog TV) resolution…

A drama from group AEN called Lucky Bastard was released a little while ago, and boy does it stink. Not only are the written reviews rubbish, the lack of a notable cast and the terrible direction make this film very skippable. For those interested, check the iMDB page for more info. PS: Is there a shot in this film where he’s actually wearing a shirt?, or did they just skimp out on the costumes and were like “Here, you’re going shirtless the whole film mmk?”

Synopsis: A successful and happily coupled but restless gay man reevaluates his life and self-identity in this dark indie drama from writer-director Everett Lewis (The Natural History of Parking Lots). When architect Rusty (Patrick Tatten) begins cheating on his loving boyfriend with a drug-addicted hustler, Denny (Dale Dymkoski), the affair leads to an existential crisis that finds Rusty questioning his very notions of success and happiness.

A short from the Funny People DVD, Raaaaaaaandy is a doco about a comedian whose Aziz’s character is based off of. Looks pretty funny, and weighing in at only ~250MB should make it a worthy download.

Synopsis: The “Raaaaaaaandy! Documentary” is a 22-minute piece on Aziz Ansari’s character from the film, a rude-humored comic that is supposed to have become a sensation. This funny piece is played straight, as if it were real. Randy is kind of a parody of Dane Cooke filtered through a hiphop prism. The featurette also has cameos from The Office’s Ellie Kemper, Parks & Recreation’s Nick Offerman, and Jimmy Kimmel as himself.

Long time no post! Unfortunately this film doesn’t really interest me in the slightest, mix reviews around the traps regarding the “indie” feel to the film, which seems to be its biggest drawcard. Quality wise this release is pretty solid, I can’t really fault it from what I’ve seen.

One Hot Summer is a LMN production, released straight to DVD and aired on their primetime slot at 7PM. Apart from that, this has nothing going for it. Poor ratings, poor reviews, poor director choice make this very forgettable.
