Flashy: Well, my summer is complete I saw a p2p rip of this yesterday and I grabbed it almost immediately and will now be downloading the scene release. The tracks are great; all of them. Eminem is back !

A new Eminem album, really? Yes really! This time around no stupid lame mixtapes with DJ’s screaming though some cracky songs, but a whole new studio album!.  I think he ripped this album – that dude is still one of the best rappers alive.  I like this better than Relapse so far.  A couple songs were obviously crafted for radio love, but I enjoyed them so there is no problem there. People will complain about Eminem being “Emo” but I don’t mind him being personal.  He does sing on too many hooks and bridges though, do it once if maybe twice if you are feeling yourself like that.  Overall though – off one listen this is good, maybe even great…I wonder if it will grow on me? I can’t believe I am listening to a potentially great album from Em in 2010! Brought to us by DOH, cheers!

It’s been a while since I last posted an album, sorry for that. My lack of presence was caused by shit going on at my final training period (my mentor got fired, school started bitching etc.) but now I’m back to bring you some nice music again [:

This time around it’s the new As I Lay Dying album, The Powerless Rise. As I Lay Dying is an American metalcore  band from San Diego, California, formed in 2000. Their band name derives from the novel by William Faulkner with the same title. The Powerless Rise does not push any boundaries, but by continuing to play a style they are already the leader of, As I Lay Dying show they are, and plan to remain, the reigning kings of melodic metalcore. There is no drop-off in quality in comparison to their last release, they’ve trimmed the fat, they’ve gone darker, and they’ve proven they can continue to grow, even if only incrementally. It’s going to be a long year with bands trying to measure up to the gold standard set by this album, and I anticipate few, if any, metalcore bands matching the quality of The Powerless Rise.

Circa Surive have stayed true to their sound over two albums, but their latest album, “Blue Sky Noise,” finally sees the band changing directions. The best part is that it doesn’t suck. At first I was a little turned off, but with time, I’ve found myself really enjoying it. I guess it’s an aquired taste.. kinda like beer ^^. The band’s sound is is still there, but just slightly different. I hear more of vocalist Anthony Green’s solo acoustic song writing style being heard more on BSN than earlier albums, like 2007’s “On Letting Go.” There is a lot more storytelling here, which is a turn from his earlier work, where in all honesty, no one knew what he was writing about. I am a huge fan of Scouting For Girls since their first self titled album, so you can guess that I was stoked when I saw this release. After a few listens, I have to be a little bit dissapointed, because SFG has also caught the Autotune virus, so most of their songs sound the same and not that original. Luckily it’s not all mindless music, because the band still has something that distinguishes them from the hundreds of britpop bands these days. Give it a try if you dare! If I had to rate the album I’d give it a 7/10, so it’s pretty decent. Brought to us by SiRE, nice quality as always.

Here is a record that is described as acoustic pop with emo influences. How does that sound? Well, to me it sounds pretty damned good. Joakim Jensen has a voice that is not as whiny as many emo bands and the acoustic approach to the music is nice. There is a laid-back approach and I can hear similarities to Jack’s Mannequin, Anberlin and similar bands but mostly acoustic of course. Ah today we bring you the new album by Craig David. I ain’t a huge fan of him myself, but I can imagine that you’re pretty stoked for this new Cover Album. The intention of this album was to “sing the songs exactly as the original artists had”, which he does, reproducing every falsetto and hiccup. Give him credit, too, for bravery: by tackling songs enshrined as American classics, he demonstrates complete disregard for the derision the project has already attracted. The question, though, is why this still-agreeable soul star would want to make a karaoke record hehe.. Delivered by pLAN9!
