Here we have an odd release. Hiren’s BootCD, which is a homebrewed bootcd from the web, was released by NEPRO. Of course it is nuked already (nuked: free.from.web) but this disc is just loaded with usefull tools. From Recovery Tools to Partition Tools to Filemanagers this has a comprehensive choice. An essential disc for any enthusiasts toolkit.

Description: Hiren’s BootCD is a live CD containing various diagnostic programs such as partitioning agents, system performance benchmarks, disk cloning and imaging tools, data recovery tools, MBR tools, BIOS tools, and many others for fixing various computer problems. As it is a bootable CD, it can be useful even if the primary operating system cannot be booted. Hiren’s Boot CD has an extensive list of software. Utilities with similar functionality on the CD are grouped together and seem redundant; however, they present choices through different UIs and options in what they can do.

    UltimateBootCD4Win is much, much better but you have to build it yourself.
    Saved me a few times.

    Last time I downloaded a Hiren’s cd image, it was riddled with trojans and viruses.

    Well then you probably downloaded it from someone’s comment. Don’t do stuff like that. Just buy the damn CD, or get it from TPB. I’ve been getting every version since version 4 and so far no trojans or anything.
